This is my second copy of this book. I purchased this book 15 years ago while healing from a very painful season in my marriage. This book was the greatest gift because it comforted me and taught me what forgiveness was, was not and how beneficial it was for me. I did not want to be unforgiving, but I also needed to know that what I felt would be validated and not condemned. This book addressed everything that I was feeling and then some. I still today feel so much freedom after reading this book and I believe that, though it takes time, once you understand what forgiveness is, you will be open to forgiving and enjoy the humility and freedom that comes with it.

I was quite disappointed in this book and only read about a third of it before giving up. It's poorly written and organized. I also don't agree with many of his scriptural interpretations although I consider myself a committed Christian. In my edition of the book, there were testimonials about the book put on the page before each new chapter which I found particularly off-putting. A good non-religious book on forgiveness that I greatly prefer is "Forgive for Good" by Fred Luskin. That was much more helpful to me.

Honestly, this is probably one of the most important books for the modern (and historical church for that matter) to read. We don't realize how much we are holding in and how much it affects our relationship with God. Of course we are loved by Him and none of that changes, but there is something about a lifestyle of forgiveness that brings you into the tender heart of the Father. I thought I was doing pretty well in this category and this book ended up *truly* uprooting some offenses I thought I had dealt with from my past. I feel so much more free and I now feel more equipped to work through conflict with grace. Thanks R.T.! I have read many books along these lines and this is far and above the best. You will not regret reading this book!

I recently discovered my husband of 16 years has been having an affair. He didn't come clean, I found out when he was fired from his job because his mistress was a co-worker's wife. I was devastated. I had no idea. I made him leave and haven't decided if we will ever reconcile, but the anger and bitterness I have been feeling toward my husband and this other woman was killing me. It's all I thought about day and night. I won't say that reading this book made all those feelings immediately melt away, but it truly got me started down the right path. The bad days are starting to be fewer and farther between. I can see the light now, and it's from putting into practice what this book teaches. Whatever grudge you harbor, you need to read thru this book and set yourself free. It's not for the person who has wronged you. It's for you. So take your life back! Thanks RT for writing this book!

I have needed this book for a long time. I decided to purchase it at full price and it is some of the best money I've ever spent! I have searched high and low on HOW to forgive and this book gave me the tools to begin my journey of forgiveness. Forgiveness for others as well as for myself. I thought I had already forgiven. I thought I was moving on. This book shed light on the fact that, although I had forgiven I hadn’t totally forgiven and there was no “moving on” happening in reality. This book didn’t saying much that I had not heard before but truth was presented in such a way that my heart was finally softened to enable the Holy Spirit of God to reach in down deep into my soul and change my attitude. I discovered that my perpetrator wasn’t actually my enemy. He didn’t intentionally hurt me and God didn’t need me to punish him. I can now pray that God will truly bless him and his endeavors.

If you ever have a chance to hear R.T. Kendall deliver a talk you'll know what an effective communicator he is and his teaching are Biblically based. Ridding oneself of unforgiveness and/or holding resentments for wrongs done to us is definitely not easy, but it is simple and using Dr. Kendall's method it can be trusted one hundred percent. I am a published writer of non-fiction -- I write for Examiner, CBS, Care.com, Tattle, and other publications as a freelancer. However, I have had immense difficulty tackling the novel I've always dreamed of writing. It is in pieces on my flash drive as parts seem to just "come" to me.What I appreciated most about this manual is the planning process and the tips for conquering writer's block. As I was reading, I discovered that this is exactly what I was having problems with. I love creating characters (never grew out of making imaginary friends, I guess), and I like creating all of the challenges the characters go through in my mind, and watching them overcome. The beginning and ending of my novel is coming out nicely, but the middle is skeletal at best. It's because I didn't plan very well for it. Now I know what to do when I go back and try again.My only complaint about this book is that it's somewhat repetitive. I feel like some parts were repeated just to have more pages.I recommend this to aspiring writers of any age!

After years of writing in university, Finally I have found a clear path to the objective for short story and novel writing. Composition classes, thesis, critiques, discussion, and research writings have been my game for years, but no one has ever put it plain and simple to exactly how to keep on track and follow your outline. Character analysis is also discussed and shown how important it is to do research and planning in order to keep the reader interested. The book is short, but with all the information packed into it, following the tips given here will make any beginner or seasoned writer the best one can be. I have shared this book many times with my writers groups and we agree--it is a must for your writing career.

Myers uses a six-box approach to plotting and then divides each box into about five scenes. The book is aimed at a high school audience, and Myers delivers a cogent explanation of writing for this age group., For non-fiction writing, he uses a four-box: question, evidence, explanation, answer. Great book for young writers!

This is the book that all aspiring writers should read. Mr. Myers uses clear and simple instructions replete with numerous examples of how to go about writing. He expressly describes writing books, but much of what he has included rings true of any fiction. Although the title is just write, tells all the things that will improve your writing if you do the layout first. Preparation is clearly laid out in the beginning of the book. He also talks about what needs to be done for key points for the success of your writing.

Just Write was a really good book. It helped me understand the pre-writing process better and has helped my writing. I'm a huge Walter Dean Myers fan and would love to have the success he has had as a writer so this book is a great one for me to do that and see his process.

I selected this book, because I am writing a memoir. I also purchased a copy of his self portrait from his earlier life in New York City. I shared the latter with my grandson; I am using the 'Just Write' book to polish my writing for my memoir. I would recommend this book for anyone who is considering writing as a hobby or sideline. Myers describes his informal writing technique, which is easy to understand and apply to any writing style.

For a beginning writer, by that I mean a young person, this book would be helpful. The concrete illustrations provide an excellent framework. I think the main thing I got from Walter Dean Myers book is the importance of sharing a life story (his) but couched in story form. He has walked the walk! And his drive to do the "homework" is phenomenal, by that I mean the research and interviews and informative reading.

Walter Dean Myers book, JUST WRITE, HERE'S HOW, was excellent.Both well conceived and constructive about the writing process. His six part plan offers a well thought out way to begin and end a story. I especially liked his emphasis on thinking thru the process and seeing possible consequences of said actions. Should be required reading for all teachers. Terrific!!!

We liked the first couple of Professor Astrocat books enough to get Human Body Odyssey and Atomic Adventures. We LOVE those. We love them so much, that now I just preorder anything Dominic Walliman writes. My seven-year-old begs for them as bedtime stories, and I now understand the periodic table better than I understood it after a year of high school chemistry.

Excellent product with easy to follow explanations. More information than I though which is really nice. You cant go wrong here folks. Space book is on point as well.

A smaller kid can connect to the images, and a bigger kid connects to the explanation. Educational and gorgeously made. The book is big and well printed. A beautiful gift!

Great book even for my 5 yr old who’s very interested in how the body works. Great colors and pictures. Well constructed book.

We love the entire Professor Astro Cat series! Perfection from beginning to end.

Amazing as always!

Astrocat and the illustrations work well for our two and four year old. They absolutely love this human body astrocat book. We read it all the time and still they ask for us to read it more often. A great introduction to science with Richard Scarry type detail to drive deep science learning, yet colorful and fun enough to appeal to much younger kids.
