This is a good book for an absolute beginner. But I'm pretty serious about the 'absolute beginner' part. Most of the songs are extremely simplified down to just a quarter and eighth note melody. The melodies themselves seem to also be simplified. I.e. They are not a true version of the original song score melodies. It appears they've tried to stay away from low and high register notes, which means if you're playing this for a violin, you'll be primarily working the D and A strings. It's like old mcdonald for disney music.

I am so happy I bought this book! There are a lot of songs to choose from. I have no cons, but sometimes I do wish the songs had words.

I picked this up for my daughter so she wouldn't get rusty over the summer. If anything, it has really helped her out. She has only been in band for one year, but there was quite a variety of skill levels here. She started out with what she thought she could handle, but there were so many songs that she knew and wanted to learn, that she started working hard to get to the next level so she could play them.The variety of songs here is great. I was thinking that with 72 songs, there would be a couple of popular ones, and then a lot that I had never heard of. That was not the case though. The book was full of songs that we recognized. It has been nice hearing her practice, and knowing the song well enough to find ourselves singing along.

My daughter is a huge Disney fan and just started learning the violin - so I had to buy this book for her! It's great - it has all the classics and some of them are not hard at all. This is definitely a beginner book, which is exactly what I wanted. I learned to play Let's Go Fly A Kite today with my daughter. So much joy!

This is a great book for an advanced-beginner to intermediate cellist to practice on. There is a wide range of songs for Disney fans of any age to enjoy. My only complaint is that many of the works are the writer's interpretations of the melody and not the original composition and so a lot of the songs are incomplete and some have awkward notes that don't sound quite right.Overall, if I could do it over, I would buy the book again, I just wish some of the songs were more complete.

I have had the book for a week now. I am a beginning cello student (about 18 months of cello lessons). Some pieces are pretty easy and others a little more challenging. I would say that this book is for the beginner, with some lessons under his or her belt, and to intermediate level, but not to the newest beginner. The pieces are written in different scales. There are a couple of songs that I don't know the scales to. Luckily I have a teacher and will ask her. This book is fun, especially if you like disney songs.

My 13 year old nephew found the songs to be too easy. Better suited for flute beginners, but nonetheless fun melodies for experienced players.

This book contains a nice mix of some pretty old Disney Songs (Mary Poppins, Song of the South) as well as fairly new (High School Musical) though none of the super new hits, but it also is fairly balanced as far as having both beginner and intermediate songs in it. I bought this as an adult trying to pick back up the flute after years of not playing and wanting to have something fun to play and so far it's been just that!

This is not a good buy. It played two times and stopped playing. The book appears thick, but only has a few pages. There are only 5 sounds made--a tractor engine, horn, horse, duck, owl. How many tiny children have ever heard an owl? The story line is interspersed with pictures of objects--along with their names beside them. This is very confusing when trying to read the story to a child. I am not pleased with this product at all. My grandson is two and crazy about tractors and animals.. This did not keep his attention for one minute. Yet, he has a book entitled "The Crippled Lamb" and he will bring it to me to read to him. The flaps covering the pictures are fllimsy and will tear off unless the child is super careful handling it. Fair warning on this product!

Fun sounds and great book for baby to toddler

My grandson just loves this book. He is 2 and is all into trucks tractors and anything with wheals. This book was his fav at his birthday.

Our grandson at 22 months loved this book and I'm sure will for a couple more years.,. It is absolutely adorable! The tractor sounds exactly like a tractor starting up and then running, so cute!

Only 5 pages, did not work properly from the beginning. After closing tab that you lift to engage the sound, the sound would continue even with the book closed. Get it at Kohl's cheaper with one of the %off coupons you receive in the mail.

This always peeked my toddlers interest, as he LOVES everything tractor. I was a tad disappointed when there was only ONE tractor sound. :( the peek a boo flaps are great, and the sound technology is light activated, which is unique, but makes it difficult to read in minimal light.Overall, a good book, the title is misleading, and I wouldn't purchase again for the price.

Unfortunately the book doesn't work well. This was an exchange, and the exchange item was defective as well. When you lift the flaps the book is supposed to make noise. At first it was making noise with about half the flaps (theres only about 5 or 6)...now a few days later, no noises at all (and yes I even replaced the batteries.)

Package came very quickly! Sadly, when I went to open the flaps the sound did not work. I got extra batteries in case that was the problem but still no sound. Very disappointed with this product
