Just began reading. Three short stories in and I feel compelled to rate five stars. Not just for young adults!!! I turn 45 this Saturday. I bought this for myself after reading a french journalist’s response to Catherine Deneuve’s commentary on the #METOO movement. The journalist sighted the authors and titles of several french writings to demonstrate that not ALL women in France held Deneuve’s perspective. Penelope Bagieu’s Brazen was noted in this article. What a discovery! Soooooooooo grateful to the jounalist, to Penelope Bagieu. Thank Yoou! Thank You! Thank You! Keep writing!!!

I cannot say enough about how much I adore this book! It is engaging for readers of all ability levels and all ages since it is in a graphic novel format. My 10 year old snagged it from me after I shared with her the first story; the real bearded lady. She devoured it in one sitting. A 5th-grade student in my class who struggles with reading, therefore very picky with books, read one page and was hooked. She snuck in time reading BRAZEN sitting on a bench outside instead of playing at recess. I gifted the book to her because, on the last day of school, she asked where she could get her own copy. I recommend multiple copies of this book in school libraries and classroom libraries K-12. A collection if brave women in history, BRAZEN is a book for everyone. If you have not read it yet, go out and get yourself a copy ASAP!

This book is amazing. Thoroughly entertaining and informing. The range of women featured, the humor and emotional depth of their stories, expertly drawn out by Pénélope...wonderful stuff here. I would recommend it for anyone!

This is a beautiful educational book appropriate for ages 12 and up. I learned a lot about female historical figures, especially ones that have shaped society. There is a beautiful diversity or ages, races, and ethnicities featured in the book and and a lot of beautiful artwork. Some graphic novels are easily finished within a day, but this took me a few days to read, and I was sad when I finished. Lovely book!

For me awesome but was purchasing for young daughter. I did not note that this is for "Teen or young adult." The content, at times, touches on subjects that I would prefer to discuss later in life. Will pass on when she is older. :)

This book is awesome. I usually don't love comic-strip format, but I really enjoyed everything about reading this book. The illustrations go perfectly with the history of the amazing women Bagieu chose to highlight, and her humor makes the history memorable. I even read many of the stories to my young children, who now are also huge fans of Bagieu. This is a great book to read, and would be a perfect gift for anyone wanting to learn about some pretty amazing women!

Wonderful artwork and great stories!

The art and stories in this book are incredible. The comics format is such a great approach to depicting these amazing life stories in a fast-paced, bite sized way. I'm not usually one to pick up a biography, but this format is so engaging. The spreads of full-page art between each story are gorgeous. Beyond the high quality content, the entire book design (cover and insides) is really well executed and make this book a beautiful addition to your shelf.

I am usually very lenient when it comes on to reviews so I will start off with the good ☺️. Firstly I would say that everything came beautifully packaged and organized the cards are small and compact perfect for when traveling ! They are easy to read and not complicated! They are kind of flimsy and you are going to have to be careful most likely . Now for the con and the only reason I took a star away is because I put the disc into a DVD player (my notebook laptop doesn't have a hard drive) to see if the audio works and the disc was ejected . I'm not sure if it was just because it wasn't a video but usually disc with audio play in my DVD player so it's most likely the disc which is disappointing ☹️. Otherwise from that it's all good ! Just make sure all your disx actually work before you ship them and I'm pretty sure you will have 5 out of 5 rating all the time ☺️!!

As others have mentioned: this set more or less assumes previous knowledge of hangul. Even with that basis, the presentation can be overwhelming for complete beginners, with multiple words per card filed under a single larger category word. Personally, I'd find learning a little easier with every word on its own card, but this way there is a good deal more content possible on the limited number of cards per set. The cards themselves are durable, well-printed and on a glossy light card-stock. They come with a ring, a cd-format pronunciation guide and a full word-list in pamphlet form.

I love the fact that the flash cards come with lots of information on them, plus a CD and booklet. That's very generous of the product. However, the card is too small and the blue color ink is too light in color and hence too difficult to read at night when using artificial light. It's okay in the daylight, but the flash cards really should have been made using dark black ink instead of the blue they used. Black ink would definitely be much easier to view and read.Also, the flash cards should be much bigger than the size they used to create the 200 hundred cards included in this box set (note: there are only 200 cards, but those cards come with lots of phrases; however, that information is too difficult to read due to the overly small print used in trying to fit great information into a small size; the solution is too use bigger-sized cards and not to get rid of the great information buyers/users need and want on the cards).I hope the sellers reissue this set but using traditional-sized flashcards (the kind students buy to write notes on when preparing for tests) and very dark black ink.

My K-POP obsessed daughter is teaching herself Korean, and she was thrilled with this gift. The quality looked good, comes with a disc, if she uses it she will learn something, I'm sure.

The flash cards are very nice, good quality, easy to use and read. however, the CD that accompanies the kit did not work. I replaced the kit and the second CD did not work either. Both my car CD players and my two house CD players were unable to play them. They fit alright, just no recording read. Since it would be helpful to hear the pronunciation I was extremely disappointed the CD doesn't work.

This flash cards are good. The cards have good content though some words seem to be a little bit off... also I found some of them have repeated words... the book included with these isn't a real book... it is just a booklet with all the words on the flashcards.I haven't tried to play the cd so I would't be able to tell if it is good or not.The cards are very thin so you should have to handle them very carefully or else they could rip apart.Overall if you are learning Korean I can say the fulfill their purpose...I would buy them again given the good price on. :D

As a native English speaker, the challenge is recalling the Korean word when speaking. Novice learners are going to think in English and try to translate into Korean. These cards are only uni-directional: Korean to English, but not English to Korean. The reverse side should have only had English. Instead, the reverse side has English word plus the original Korean word.These cards therefore are only good for listening but not speaking. Speaking is typically the more difficult.

Purchased these to leave on my desk at work so I can learn a new Korean word everyday. The cards are pretty thin but overall I think I will get a lot of use out of this product.

The use of Thiel's own words to analyze different aspects of his interests and beliefs is clever, and helps create an overall narrative about what makes Thiel tick. The way the chapters are group together in three sections is helpful in framing the ideas in a larger context. Speaking of chapters, when I saw there were 67 chapters, I almost groaned...but the number is deceptive because many of the chapters are short. The pace of the book is fast and lively due to this concise approach. I appreciated how quotes from Thiel were linked so I could read more if I wanted. I would have liked a little more of the author's framing and perspective in certain very short chapters like the one on Jesus Christ. I didn't know much about Peter Thiel before reading this biography, and now that I've finished reading this book, I'm interested in learning more. It's a fun read, and a clever approach.

This book reads like a set of flash cards, peering directly into Peter Thiel’s brain.Like everything I have read about, and by, Peter Thiel I found myself at times completely agreeing with his genius, and at times dismayed by his strangeness. Either way with each page forward another idea was revealed and Peter’s contrarian nature laid a little more bare. This book is easy to read in one sitting, and even easier to pick up for a second round. If this book had been written in paper there are pages (Buzzwords with a note from Big Data for instance) that I would have literally torn out to use as a bookmark as I read future books

I wanted to understand Peter Thiel, see how he lived his life and what made him so successful.Instead, I got a disjointed series of shallow quotes, mostly about Thiel's opinions on other Silicon Valley figures. Very little context for each quote, and absolutely no narrative stringing them together.Go read (or reread) Zero to One instead, or watch one of Peter's talks on youtube.

Great insights into the mind and biography of one of Silicon Valley's most powerful (and secretive) investors, compiled from extensive research. The structure is impressionistic, with many short anecdotes, but combined they paint a striking picture of a modern tech mogul. Now that Thiel has been revealed as the secret funding behind the Hulk Hogan v. Gawker lawsuit (among other lawsuits aimed at taking down Gawker), this is required reading for anyone who cares about the future of tech and media.

A quick and enlightening read. Well framed. A collage of insights from one of the most influential figures in technology and innovation. Reilly has captured the soul and spirit of Thiel, through his own words, without trying to manipulate the reader. What you see is what you get from Reilly's court side seat. A must read for anyone captivated by this fascinating man and the technology culture he's impacted.

Don't judge it by its length. Although it is short, it is insightful. I hope there will be more books about Peter Thiel coming soon.
